District3 rehearsing for UK tour

Former X Factor hopefuls District3 will be hitting the road in May

X Factor finalists District3 have joked that they still have "the moves" as they prepare for their UK tour.

The boyband - Greg West, Dan Ferrari-Lane and Micky Parsons - made it to the live shows on the last series of the ITV show and are still going strong despite failing to clinch the title, with their upcoming shows and new music on the way.

Asked if they were looking forward to hitting the road, Greg said: "It's beyond that. This will be the first time anyone has heard our original music, so it's going to be interesting to see everyone's reactions. There's nothing online yet, we've done well keeping it all under wraps. There's a song we wrote ages ago that's on YouTube, but that's it."

He said the trio are currently "toiling away" in rehearsals.

"We've still got all the moves. Some might say I never had them, but we're not rusty or anything. We've only just started rehearsing so we've still got a lot to learn," he said.

District3 have also been busy recording their debut EP, which Greg said has a "more mature sound" that might surprise some of their X Factor fans.

Dan added: "We were writing and recording for about two months. We're just tying it all up, fine-tuning and picking the best songs. We wrote a load of songs so we have a few to choose from. It'll come out just after the tour, if not during, in the next month or so."

:: District3 begin a tour of the UK on May 24.
