Eoghan to unseat Nadine in charts

X-factor's Eoghan Quigg and Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle will be part of a history-making pop double for Northern Ireland at the weekend.

Londonderry-born Nadine and her band are currently No 1 but they are about to ousted by Eoghan from Dungiven and his fellow X-factor finalists.

Hero, the new track by the X-Factor line up, could become one of the biggest-selling releases of the decade, according to latest figures. The single has been recorded for The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal and Help for Heroes, a charity that provides support for wounded servicemen and women.

It is already certain to land this week’s No 1, removing Girls Aloud and their new single The Promise from the top spot.

Hero is expected to sell more than 300,000 copies across the UK this week.
