Expectant Snow Patrol man Jonny Quinn to miss tour

Snow Patrol's Jonny Quinn

Snow Patrol drummer Jonny Quinn is to become a father.

The news was announced on the band's website ahead of the upcoming North American tour.

Bangor-born Jonny, who married his Norwegian wife Marianne in Oslo in August 2008, is currently on paternity leave.

He will be replaced by the band's friend and touring member, Richard Colburn, from Belle and Sebastian.

The North American tour kicks off over the weekend with three shows in California and then heads to Portland next week to begin a 14-date joint headline tour with Noel Gallagher and the High Flying Birds.

Jonny is the first member of Snow Patrol to become a dad. He proposed to Marianne at the band's first Ward Park gig in 2007.

Gemini:

This is a good time to establish a routine. Create a schedule that strikes a nice balance between your personal and professional lives. You're the type of person who needs plenty of intellectual stimulation outside of work. If you've been spending too much time at the office, reduce your hours. This may mean less money, but you can't put a price on happiness. You might even decide to take a job with unconventional hours so you can play sports or spend more time outdoors.More
