Ezra's million sales mark 'unreal'

Brit-nominated singer George Ezra has described the feeling of selling more than a million albums as "unreal".

The 22-year-old's debut album, Wanted On Voyage, has hit the one million mark after shifting 1.007 million copies since it was released in June 2014.

"Selling a million albums almost doesn't feel real," Ezra told

"I don't actually think I've ever seen a million of anything. Thank you so much to anyone who has bought the album and has enjoyed it.

"I always wanted to be thought of as an album artist, so over everything that's happened this means the most. Thank you," he added.

Wanted On Voyage, which spawned two Top 10 singles with Budapest and Blame It On Me, spent 13 consecutive weeks in the Top 10 from July 2014, before it climbed to the top spot in October. It has spent over a year - 56 consecutive weeks - in the Top 10.

The album has become one of 26 artist albums to pass the landmark figure since 2010, alongside Take That's Progress, Adele's 21, Emeli Sande's Our Version Of Events and Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto.

Only three have reached the milestone since the start of 2013 - Ed Sheeran's x, Sam Smith's In The Lonely Hour and One Direction's Midnight Memories.

Tracks downloaded from Ezra's album total 1.31 million, they have been streamed 107 million times and viewed on video streaming sites in the UK 43 million times.
