'Free spirit' Johnson in REM video
Aaron Johnson and fiancee Sam Taylor-Wood have joined forces once again, for REM's new music video.
Dressed in a yellow T-shirt, tracksuit pants and trainers, the Kick-Ass actor is seen in agile poses, standing on a bollard and jumping up, in the video for Uberlin, with Sam behind the camera.
The band's frontman Michael Stipe said: "Sam and I had talked about doing something for REM, but I had no idea that she and Aaron would create such a work of beauty. It's as if all the film references instantly updated themselves to '21st Century NOW'."
Sam - who met Aaron on the set of Nowhere Boy, which she directed - added: "Michael Stipe gave me complete creative control and trusted me to make this piece for REM. Aaron gave me his wild, free spirit and the collaboration was pure magic."
The video to Uberlin, from REM's new album Collapse Into Now, which will be released on March 7, was shot in and around London's Brick Lane in one afternoon.
