Gaga and Christina duet on Voice US

Christina Aguilera has duetted with Lady Gaga for The Voice US

Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera have performed a powerhouse duet during the final of The Voice US.

The Applause singer joined Voice coach Christina on stage to belt out the Gaga hit Do What U Want during the series final, according to Metro.

Gaga originally duetted with R Kelly on the track, but swapped him for Christina in a performance that saw her resting her head on the Beautiful singer's chest before they were served champagne by a waiter.

The pair finished their song by locking arms, downing the drinks and smashing their glasses on the floor.

Christina wore a slinky gold dress for the performance while Gaga donned a heavily shoulder-padded catsuit made out of the same material.

Afterwards, Gaga tweeted: "@xtina thank you for performing with me, your heart is as big as your voice. Such a fan for so long, I can't believe we shared the stage."

Christina also told her Twitter followers about her love for Gaga: "She is such a powerhouse vocalist and I was honoured to join the stage with @ladygaga tonight on #TheVoice! Xo."
