Gaga hits back at weight critics

Lady Gaga has once again been talking about her weight
Lady Gaga has once again been talking about her weight

Lady Gaga has revealed that she has battled eating disorders since her teens.

The Born This Way star opened up about her struggles with anorexia and bulimia as she responded to comments about her recent weight gain.

The 26-year-old posted several pictures of herself in her underwear on her LittleMonsters.com website, one under a caption which read 'Bulimia and anorexia since I was 15', and encouraged fans to join her in "a body revolution".

"Be brave and celebrate with us your 'perceived flaws', as society tells us. May we make our flaws famous, and thus redefine the heinous," she urged.

Gaga wrote to fans in a post on the site: "My weight loss/gain since I was a child has tormented me. No amount of help has ever healed my pain about it. But YOU have."

She went on: "I am not going to go on a psycho-spree because of scrutiny. This is who I am. And I am proud at any size."

The Poker Face singer also revealed that her boyfriend, The Vampire Diaries star Taylor Kinney, "prefers me curvier", adding: "When I eat and am healthy and not so worried about my looks, I'm happy. Happier than I've ever been."

Gaga's weight has been a hot topic since she was snapped looking curvier than usual on stage this month, even leading to rumours that she was pregnant. She later announced that she was dieting after gaining 25 pounds "eating pasta and pizza" at her dad's Manhattan restaurant.
