Lady Gaga may have been absent from the MTV VMAs, but she revealed she was watching the ceremony from home.
The Poker Face singer - whose real name is Stefani Germanotta - tweeted her comments throughout the show, which took place at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.
After Rihanna opened the show with a medley of new single Cockiness (I Love It) with rapper A$AP Rocky and We Found Love, she wrote: "what a lovely performance by @Rihanna! I feel like I'm sixteen again watching the VMAS, and then i remember i get to do this too. #socrazy."
She also enjoyed performances by Frank Ocean and Green Day.
"watch frank ocean steal this whole show. I'm dead. I'm still such a @greenday stan its insane. hopping around the room like a 14 yr old."
And when Taylor Swift closed the show with a rousing performance of her single, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, Lady Gaga wrote: "What a lovely night, we found love 4 the win! Was all sorts of awesome watching this at home like i did when i was a kid. SWIFTY IS SO CUTE."
Meanwhile, the Paparazzi star angered animal rights groups again after being seen wearing a fox stole.
The controversial singer, who was previously rapped for draping herself in a pink mink coat in New York last month, was described as heartless by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta).
"The picture speaks for itself. Peta is considering passing the hat so that someone can buy her a heart," said a Peta spokesperson.
