Ariana Grande has said she thinks that she chose the right time to collaborate with Iggy Azalea for their hit Problem.

The singer told MTV how she had first met rapper Iggy, and explained how working together on their number one hit song had come about.

She said: "The first time I met Iggy we were at the EMAs actually in Amsterdam and we sort of bonded at the after party that night and I thought she was the coolest.

"I was so excited that she wanted to do the song with me. I feel like we picked the right time to collaborate."

Ariana added of her new album: "I wanted to experiment a bit more with this album and try some new sounds and things that weren't in my comfort zone because I feel like that's where some of the greatest work can come from, really pushing yourself to try something new.

"That's what we did and I'm very excited about it."

Ariana's second album, My Everything, is due to be released later this month.
