Grande to perform at MTV awards
Ariana Grande is to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 24.
MTV announced that the pop singer and children's TV star is the first performer for the awards show, which will air live from California.
Ariana's current single Problem, featuring Iggy Azalea, has reached double platinum status in the US and peaked at number two on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.
MTV reprised its popular countdown show Total Request Liv" for one day for the singer on July 2. It was dubbed Total Ariana Live.
The 20-year-old will release her sophomore album My Everything a day after the VMAs.
Ariana found TV fame on the Nickelodeon sitcoms Victorious and Sam & Cat. Her 2013 debut single was the Top 10 hit The Way.
