Grimshaw angers Tomlinson fans

Nick Grimshaw has urged One Direction fans to stop sending him abusive tweets after Louis Tomlinson was dubbed "annoying" on his breakfast show.

The Radio 1 DJ ignited the wrath of 1D fans with his jokey feature Showquizness, when he discussed celebrities who were more annoying than teenage singer Lorde.

While Nick listed Usher, Joey Essex and Kelly Osbourne, his producer Ian Chaloner nominated Louis, the Daily Mirror reported.

Grimmy wrote later: "Hey 1D fans!!!!! I never mentioned the word 'Louis' on my show today so enough with the charming homophobic death threats yeh?"

In October last year the DJ poked fun at Louis for complaining about the paparazzi outside his hotel, to which Louis later responded that the host was "not as good" as predecessor Chris Moyles.
