Harding: Girls Aloud like sisters

Sarah Harding has said she thinks of her Girls Aloud bandmates as her "sisters".

The singer, who recently made her solo stage debut, said although she doesn't see Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh, Cheryl Cole and Nicola Roberts all the time they have a very close bond.

She said on ITV's Lorraine: "We spent 11 years together so it's almost like we're sisters in a way.

"We might not always see each other but we're always there to support one another in spirit or not."

The star was on the show to launch the Model Mates competition, in which viewers have to nominate themselves and their friends to star in a glamorous photoshoot for swimwear brand Curvy Kate.

"It's a great way to celebrate a friendship!" said Sarah, 32.

The singer revealed her own idea of what makes a best friend, saying it is "largely loyalty and longevity and just being genuine and being there for one another through thick and thin, no matter what".
