Harvey smashes up platinum discs
Brian Harvey has recorded a video of himself smashing his commemorative platinum discs in protest at how he feels about the music industry.
The former East 17 singer posted the video on YouTube, which sees him heading off down an alley between some houses to destroy his platinum disc plaque.
Brian, 40, can be seen hitting the framed discs off a bin until the glass shatters and then kicking the debris around as he rants: " East 17 1 million sales. This is what it f***ing means."
He then storms out of the alley, telling the camera: "That's what I think of your f***ing music industry."
A week ago, Brian met with Labour MP for Rochdale Simon Danczuk to show him the findings of his own year-long investigation into historic child abuse.
Simon told BuzzFeed: "It's the first time I've met him. He came across to me as a really thoughtful person. The reason we were meeting up is to discuss some work he's done around child sex abuse. He was sharing the information that he had gathered.
"He feels quite passionately about protecting children and really wants to make a contribution. We know that showbusiness is an industry that's had a number of abusers within it.
"He's providing a number of leads that I'm keen to follow up and that's exactly what I'll do. I'm pleased he's done the work he's done. We had a good chat. I'd be happy and keen to meet him again."
