Hawley 'chuffed' about Bestival gig

Richard Hawley is looking forward to performing at Camp Bestival

Richard Hawley is set to perform at Camp Bestival.

The Brit-nominated musician will headline the second night on August 2, while Brighton folk-rockers Levellers will take to the stage on August 3. Rapper Labrinth will close the four-day festival.

"I am so chuffed to have been asked to headline this festival," said Richard.

"I like the fact that there's an hour's silence on the Saturday to accommodate an ancient church service; most modern festivals would give that the rods and just steam roll over it. But mainly I am looking forward to making the folks happy at a great event like this, big old castle, ancient Jurassic coast, rock 'n' roll, poetry and theatre."

The Levellers added: "We never thought of ourselves as camp but we know we're going to fit right in at Camp Bestival because we just love to dress up as women and play campfire anthems!"

Brits Critics Choice winner Tom Odell, I Am Kloot, Gabrielle Aplin, Billy Bragg, DJ Grandmaster Flash and DJ Fresh - who had hits with Rita Ora and Dizzee Rascal - are also on the line-up.

Camp Bestival runs at Lulworth Castle in Dorset from August 1 to 4.

Gemini:

You never do anything in moderation. Attend every fun party, accept every juicy offer and try all the delectable treats spread before you. Avoid unpleasant people and activities like the plague. This should be a time of enjoyment. Leave your list of chores at home. You can always attend to these jobs at another time. If you have a chance to show your creative work to a publisher, manager or agent, go ahead. This is also a great opportunity to go on job interviews, auditions and first dates.More
