The original line-up of horror-punk band Misfits are reuniting after 33 years.

Singer Glenn Danzig, bassist Jerry Only and guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein will headline Riot Fest dates in Denver and Chicago in September.

The trio last performed together on October 29 1983, with Danzig launching his own group Samhain while Doyle and Only carried on the band.

Years of bad blood and legal suits over royalties and merchandising rights followed and Doyle and Only reached an out-of-court settlement with Danzig in 1995 to continue performing as Misfits.

Danzig and Doyle reunited for shows in 2004 and 2009, but Riot Festival will be the first time all three have shared a stage since their split.

As the poster announcing their reunion states, "They said it would never happen ... "

Misfits announced earlier in May on their Facebook page that they would also be releasing an EP called Friday The 13th on June 17.

It will feature "four new horror-punk anthems for the new millennium, each written by founding fiend Jerry Only (bass/vocals) himself! An homage to 80's era slashers, classic sci-fi and everything in between."

Riot Fest Denver will be held on September 2-4 while Riot Fest Chicago will take place on September 16-18.
