In Pictures: Ireland braced for Britney’s circus
Wednesday, 17 June 2009
Pop princess Britney Spears is due to arrive in Dublin tomorrow with an entourage of over 100 people ahead of her two O2 shows at the weekend.
The travelling troupe will include 60 dancers, her band, road crew and technicians, as well as her young sons Jayden James and Sean Preston.
And to ensure top accommodation for all involved in her spectacular ‘Circus’ tour, she has booked rooms and suites in three top Dublin hotels, the Morrison, the Merrion and the Four Seasons.
But the concert promoters have received no diva-like demands prior to her arrival.
A spokesperson for Aiken Promotions said: “We have no requests for any rider for her, although we heard there was definitely no alcohol at her London gigs. And her management has made all her hotel bookings for her and her band and crew.”
A few tickets are still available for both concerts.
Britney will have several security personnel escorting her and her companions in blacked-out people carriers to and from the O2 venue, where she will be driven straight to the stage door.
She is also expected to be accompanied by several minders if she leaves her hotel during the day for shopping or sightseeing.
The last time Britney performed in Dublin she stayed in the Westbury Hotel, off Grafton Street, with her then husband Kevin Federline and she went out on shopping trips to several nearby boutiques and designer stores.
Britney will perform in Manchester tonight.
