Indie duo to open Latitude festival

Richard Ashcroft wil play at Latitude

Former Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft and Supergrass star Gaz Coombes have been added to the line-up of this year's Latitude festival.

The indie favourites will play on the opening night of the 35,000-capacity Suffolk event at the start of a weekend of music, including headliners Bloc Party, Kraftwerk and Foals.

Ivor Novello Award-winning songwriter Richard will perform at an opening party on the BBC Radio 6 Music Stage on July 18, before the main festival begins the following day.

Gaz will perform his "experimental yet melodious" solo tunes, organisers said.

Latitude, which also includes comedy, theatre, poetry and literature stages, is now in its eighth year.

The festival organisers recently announced they would be offering hot tubs and saunas this year, as well as a disco reworking of horror classic The Wicker Man.

Sorting out and organising your surroundings should be your first priority. As a general rule, you don't mind an untidy workspace. As far as you're concerned, messiness is a sign of genius. There comes a point when even the most talented person has to make order from chaos. It may take a few hours to sort through all the papers that have accumulated, but take heart. Once you dispose the junk, you'll be able to zip through chores like a hot knife through butter.More
