Jedward on song for shot at Eurovision glory
Jedward are favourites to win the battle to represent Ireland at this year's Eurovision Song Contest.
Pop svengali Louis Walsh last night confirmed that Jedward would be one of five acts competing to be the Irish entrant.
But he said he would not be involved in the bid, or involved in selecting the track they would perform.
The former 'X Factor' contestants are expected to compete against four other acts -- understood to be Nikki Kavanagh, Don Mescall, the Vard Sisters, and a mystery quartet -- for the right to represent Ireland at the 56th contest, which is in Germany in May.
The contenders will perform on a special Eurosong 'Late Late Show' on February 11, where the winner will be chosen. A combination of public vote and jury will decide who will be the Irish entry in the semi-final in Dusseldorf.
Bookies William Hill have made John and Edward Grimes, collectively known as Jedward, their 8-11 favourites.
Paddy Power have Jedward at odds of 5-6, with Nikki Kavanagh 9-4, Don Mescall 4-1 and the Vard Sisters 7-1.
