Jessie J has been named as the musical tip for the top this year - just weeks after winning a Brit.
The up-and-coming singer has triumphed in the BBC's Sound of 2011 list in which music industry figures and tastemakers choose the pick of rising stars.
Jessie, 22, was last month named winner of the critics' choice prize for the forthcoming Brit Awards.
The raven-haired singer is, like the 2008 winner Adele, a former pupil of the Brit School for performing arts.
Last year's winner Ellie Goulding recently had a number two hit with a cover of Sir Elton John's Your Song after it featured in a John Lewis advert.
Jessie - whose real surname is Cornish - has so far only made it to number 25 in the charts with her debut single Do It Like A Dude.
She said: "The expectation of me at the moment is so high, but I thrive on knowing people have that expectation."
Electronic music producer James Blake was runner-up in the list, with rock quartet The Vaccines at number three - the same placings as the Brits critics' choice.
