Justin Bieber banned from performing in China due to ‘bad behaviour’

You will struggle to spot the pop star in China anytime soon.

Justin Bieber has been banned from performing in China because of “bad behaviour”.

The Canadian pop star is a “talented singer”, according to the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture but remains “controversial”.

In response to a question from a fan on its website, the city bureau said it was acting in the interests of imposing standards and order and “cleaning up” the domestic performance market.

Although it did not provide examples of any misdemeanours it said Bieber’s actions in his private life abroad and while in China to perform, had caused “public dissatisfaction”.

It added: “We think it’s not appropriate to allow bad behaviour in performances,” adding they hoped in the future Bieber would “keep growing up”.

Bieber performed in Beijing, Shanghai and the eastern city of Dalian in 2013 when he raised eyebrows after he was caught on camera being carried up the Great Wall of China by his bodyguards.
