Katy Perry celebrated her return home from her world tour by cuddling up in bed with her cat Kitty Purry.

The 27-year-old singer has been performing all over the world on her 122 date California Dreams Tour and it has clearly tired her out.

Katy posted a picture of her cat nap on Twitter and wrote: "Reunited and it feels so good... Me & Kitty Purry havin a kip."

Her husband Russell Brand can not be seen in the picture, but he may be the unidentified photographer.

The tweet comes amid internet rumours that the couple are headed for a separation, but representatives for Katy and Russell both staunchly deny the claims.

The Firework singer finished her world tour with two dates at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles last week and is due to guest host comedy sketch show Saturday Night Live on December 10.

There are reports that Katy is planning to take a year off to start a family with British comedian Russell, who she married last year.

Katy has said she would like to start a family, but recently dismissed pregnancy rumours and said she is not quite ready for a baby.

The singer is rumoured to have been asked to play Marilyn Monroe in a Broadway adaptation of My Week With Marilyn, which has just opened in cinemas starring Michelle Williams to rave reviews.
