Kelis: I don't drink milkshakes

Kelis has admitted she doesn't actually like milkshakes - despite making her name singing about them.

The American singer-songwriter had a huge hit with the catchy track Milkshake in 2003 - although she previously revealed she wasn't actually singing about a drink, but using the word as a metaphor for "something that makes women special".

She has now confessed that she isn't a fan of the beverages herself.

"Funnily, enough I don't actually drink milkshakes," she told the Daily Mirror.

However, while she isn't a milkshake fan, Kelis is something of a foodie and apparently graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School.

The 35-year-old would even like to open an eatery of her own one day and has already created a line of sauces.

She said: "I would love to open a restaurant in the near future.

"My current sauce line Feast will be coming out this winter."

"A lot of various food related goals in the upcoming year - I'm excited to see what's to come!" she added.
