Kesha in rehab for eating disorder

Kesha is being treated for an eating disorder

Kesha has gone into rehab for bulimia, not an alcohol problem, her mother has said.

The Tik Tok singer checked into a treatment facility earlier this month and although she explained at the time that it was to address her eating disorder, there have been rumours that she is also battling substance abuse.

However, the 26-year-old's mother Pebe Sebert has now told Celebuzz that the rumour is "a total lie".

She said: "The place she's at is an eating disorder centre.

"When they say 'people close to her' I will tell you I travel with her everywhere, her little brother, her assistant, make-up artist, talk to anyone."

Pebe went on: "She might be crazy and she might get s***-faced drunk but everyone does. She might have a few drinks here and there. But she doesn't have a drinking problem."

Kesha's mum said the singer became bulimic when she was 18 and living in Los Angeles.

She said: "She was dieting and she became bulimic. I remember over a period of a few months she got really skinny and she said she was running Runyon Canyon and just eating well.

"The truth is she was throwing up. I didn't know until much later because she said she would quit."

Kesha is due to complete a 30-day stint at the treatment centre in Chicago although her mother hinted that she may stay longer.
