Brit award winners The Killers will return to Belfast early next year for an Odyssey Arena show, the Belfast Telegraph can reveal.

The Las Vegas rock band — who made their debut appearance in Belfast in the summer of 2007 — will play the Odyssey Arena on Saturday, February 21. The band will also play the O2 in Dublin the previous night.

Despite several concerts in Dublin, including a sold- out Marley Park gig this summer and a headlining slot at the Oxegen Festival in 2007, The Killers only made it north of the border for the first time last August, when they headlined the Tennents ViTal gig at Ormeau Park in Belfast.

Thousands of revellers packed into the park to hear the four-piece perform tracks from their two chart-topping albums Hot Fuss and Sam’s Town, including Mr Brightside, When You Were Young, Bones and the indie anthem All These Things That I’ve Done.

The Killers’ new single Human, which is currently out on digital release, is taken from their new album Day and Age, which is released on November 24.

Tracks tipped to be included on the new album include Spaceman, which the band previewed at Reading and Leeds festival over the summer, Losing Touch, I Can’t Stay and Goodnight, Travel Well.

The Killers — Brandon Flowers, Dave Keuning, Mark Stoermer and Ronnie Vannucci Jnr — formed in Las Vegas in 2002, drawing influence from British music of the 1980s and 90s.

Tickets to see The Killers at the Odyssey on February 21 go on sale this Friday priced £38 and are limited to six per person.
