Kings of Leon rule album charts

Kings of Leon have topped the album chart with Come Around Sundown

Kings of Leon have toppled Robbie Williams from the top of the album charts with their new offering Come Around Sundown.

The Take That star's long player In And Out Of Consciousness - Greatest hits 1990-2010 was squeezed into second place as the American rockers clinched the number one spot.

Legendary band The Beatles entered the album charts at numbers four and six respectively with their remastered hits compilations from 1967-1970 and 1962-1966.

The two records were among nine new entries in this week's album chart, according to the Official Charts Company.

Newlywed Katy Perry, who on Saturday tied the knot with Russell Brand in India, moved up eight places to number five with her latest album Teenage Dream. Her previous album One Of The Boys moved up six places to number 21.

Perry also secured the second highest new entry in the singles chart with her song Firework going in at number five, while her earlier single Teenage Dream slipped three places to number 19.

American singer songwriter Bruno Mars moved up one place to re-claim the top spot in the singles chart with Just The Way You Are.

While DJ collaboration Duck Sauce held onto the number three singles spot with their hit Barbra Streisand.

Boyband The Wanted claimed the highest of eight new entries in the singles chart at number two with their song Heart Vacancy.

Former X Factor contestant Diana Vickers entered the singles chart at number 13 with her song My Wicked Heart.
