KT Tunstall: Marriage is liberating

KT Tunstall says she has found marriage liberating

KT Tunstall claims to have discovered the benefits of marriage.

Among those is extra security and a sense of liberation, she said.

KT, who tied the knot to drummer Luke Bullen in September 2008, said: "Marriage was never that high on the agenda for me, I have to say, but I realised once I got married that all the angst that came with not having commitment to someone went away - you know those questions, 'Should I be with this person?', 'Should I keep my eyes open in case something better comes along?' and the really big one, 'Do they really like me?'"

She added: "You get married and all of that goes away, and you suddenly have all this extra energy that was spent thinking about that stuff."

The 35-year-old songstress, who shot to worldwide fame with debut album Eye To The Telescope, added: "You're committed, you're done. I was really amazed how liberating that was for me. I'm now a big advocate for marriage, I totally get it."

:: KT's third album Tiger Suit is out now.
