Kylie Minogue has told how she "cried every night" following her split from boyfriend Andres Velencoso.

The Voice coach and pop star, 45, and the Spanish model, 36, ended their five-year relationship last October.

Asked whether she was over the break-up, Kylie told Attitude magazine: "I could be, yeah. I could be for sure. It's not that long ago. I'm past the crying every night stage...

"Thankfully, Andres and I are still in touch. Obviously, not like we used to be... he's a great guy, and that's important ... I'm enjoying that I'm so distracted. I'm not sitting at home pining."

Kylie, whose former flames have included Olivier Martinez and Lenny Kravitz, has never married but said splitting up was still difficult.

"I think legalities can make it a little bit more of a headache, but you know there's still heartbreak and emotional sadness and all of the things that come with a bad break-up, even if you're not married," she said.

"It does [hurt], but I guess you have resilience because it's not the first time you've been down that road."

She added: "I know that I'll get through just about anything as much as I don't want to be tied down, I wouldn't want to tie someone else down."
