Kylie Minogue to reveal her Desert Island Discs

Kylie Minogue will share her castaway favourites when she appears on BBC's Desert Island Discs.

The Australian pop star will discuss her top picks with presenter Kirsty Young on the show, which will air on Radio 4 on Sunday December 13.

She follows in the footsteps of fellow Antipodeans Nicole Kidman, Dame Edna Everage and poet Les Murray, who have also chosen their favourite tracks on the programme.

Other musicians who have recently appeared on Desert Island Discs include Rolling Stone guitarist Keith Richards, former Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher, Elbow's Guy Garvey and Lily Allen.

The show, which has been on air since 1942, features a celebrity guest who is invited to choose eight discs, a book and a luxury to take with them on a mythical desert island, and explain the reasons behind their decisions.
