Labrinth inspired by Daft Punk

Labrinth has said he was inspired by Daft Punk when making his new album.

The singer is currently working on his second album after 2012 debut Electronic Earth and said that the French electronic duo had influenced the direction he planned to go in.

He told the Daily Star he appreciated their use of guitars: "Daft Punk inspired me to go more in that direction. When I heard their record I felt: 'We need more of this stuff.'

"Dance music can be devoid of soul, so bringing acoustic instruments back is a powerful thing."

Labrinth, who collaborated with Emeli Sande on hit Beneath Your Beautiful, said he was planning on working with the Scottish singer again.

He revealed: "Emeli came in the studio recently and said, 'Lab, we've got to work together again'. So we have to find space in our diaries, but it will definitely happen."
