Lady Gaga talks marijuana on stage

Lady Gaga has been talking about marijuana with her fans in Amsterdam

Lady Gaga has taken to the stage in Amsterdam and talked about the "medical wonders" of marijuana.

The eccentric singer lit up what was apparently a spliff during her gig in the city where the drug has effectively been decriminalised.

Sitting on the steps of the stage with her scantily-clad dancers, she asked fans: "Does anyone have weed?"

The Poker Face singer - who can be seen on video footage from the gig picking out roll-ups from a cigarette box and throwing them on to the stage - insisted she was smoking the real thing during the gig, saying: "We just wanted to make sure that it's real... oh it's real."

She told fans: "For those of you who are wondering if I'm high right now, I'm not. That's not nearly enough to get me high..."

The chart-topper, who donned a t-shirt with marijuana leaves on the front, also told the audience: "I will one day be meeting with the President and talking to Oprah and the next day I will be talking to you about the medical wonders of marijuana.

And she said she was in the "appropriate place" to discuss the drug, adding: "I want you to know it has totally changed my life and I've really cut down on drinking. It has been a totally spiritual experience for me with my music."
