Miranda Lambert and Tim McGraw are the top nominees for this year's Academy of Country Music Awards.

The chart stars are up for seven awards apiece at the American awards show, which will be held on April 6.

American Idol judge Keith Urban is up for six awards and Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton, Kacey Musgraves and Lee Brice are next with five each.

Florida Georgia Line and Lady Antebellum have four nods.

Miranda and husband Blake are up for the top honour, the fan-voted entertainer of the year. Taylor, Luke Bryan and George Strait are also in the running for the prize.

The ceremony will be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
