Liam Gallagher has taken a pop at brother Noel's guitar playing, saying his new band are better musicians than Oasis.
The comment appears to be a jab at his sibling, who walked out of the band last year, because Liam's new band Beady Eye has exactly the same line-up minus Noel.
In his first major interview to promote his new act, Liam told NME: "The musicians are better, without a doubt."
He said his brother's departure has given the group more freedom musically, although he was unable to articulate it, and that Oasis were stuck in a rut.
Liam said: "I can actually do more without him. It does feel different to Oasis, yeah.
"It feels like we can do things now that we couldn't have in Oasis. I don't know what, exactly, I couldn't point them out to you but I definitely feel a lot freer and that."
He said the new songs were a match for Oasis's debut album Definitely Maybe, widely seen as the band's high point.
Beady Eye release their debut album Different Gear, Still Speeding on February 28.
