Lopez receives star on Walk of Fame

Jennifer Lopez poses with her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Jennifer Lopez struggled to hold back her tears as she was honoured with a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.

The 43-year-old singer and actress admitted she was overwhelmed to be given the honour, which was for her music career.

"This all feels, I don't know, kind of surreal, but so real. It's awesome," she said.

Clad in a white top and coral Dior skirt, J-Lo was emotional as she posed for pictures with her star in front of boyfriend Casper Smart and celebs including Nigel Lythgoe and Pitbull, who she has collaborated with on her music.

She thanked her friends, family and fans for their support and for inspiring her to "work harder and dream bigger for all that is the future".

"I hope you feel, as I do, that it was all worth it. I hope I have touched your hearts even in a small way from the gigantic way in which you have touched mine," said the mother-of-two.

Jane Fonda, who worked with J-Lo on the film Monster-In-Law, was also there to see her former co-star receive the 2,500th star on the Walk of Fame.

She said that while J-Lo's star was for music "she should have an entire block of stars" for her career, which includes film roles and her previous position as a judge on US TV show American Idol as well as album sales of around 70 million.

"In my opinion, she's only scratched the surface in what she's capable of," she added.
