Madonna angers fans with late gig

Madonna appeared on stage in Miami around 11.30pm

Madonna sparked anger among her fans when she turned up more than three hours late for a gig in Miami.

The singer was scheduled to perform at 8pm at the AmericanAirlines Arena on Monday night.

The Miami Herald reported that while Madonna typically begins performing at 10pm, she didn't take to the stage until just after 11.30pm, leaving some ticket holders, who had paid up to 400 dollars, fuming.

Some fans took to Twitter to voice their anger over the Material Girl's tardiness.

Concertgoer Olga Skretting, who left early, told NBC Miami: "We had to wait over three hours to listen to Madonna, and not even an apology or anything. It was horrible. And the show? Not worth it, not worth the money, not worth our time."

Rachel Levins, who also left early, said: "I waited for three and a half hours and then she got on stage to talk about how she was putting everybody to sleep. It's past our bedtime, we have work tomorrow."

But Stephanie Goodrich said: "I waited 20 years to see Madonna, I was not happy that I waited almost four hours. But I'm glad I came, it was worth it, it was worth the wait, she's fantastic, she's ageless. The wait aside, it was a great concert."

Madonna, currently on her MDMA world tour, was due to play another sold out show in Miami on Tuesday night.
