Marcus Collins covers White Stripes

Marcus Collins has released details of his first album

X Factor runner-up Marcus Collins is set to release a cover of The White Stripes' Seven Nation Army as the first single from his debut album.

The Liverpudlian singer has also penned a number of his own tracks for the self-titled album, which X Factor mentor Gary Barlow has executive produced.

The former hairdresser said of his rocky new single, out on March 4: "I've always been a fan of the original version of Seven Nation Army and hope people like my take on it.

"I'm so happy to be releasing my debut album. I've worked on my music every minute possible since I came out of the show and can't wait for everyone to be able to hear it."

The record, out on March 12, will feature three cover versions in total, including Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher by Jackie Wilson, and Tightrope by Janelle Monae.

Marcus is also performing live on the X Factor tour throughout February, March and April.
