Mark Ronson to mentor emerging acts

Mark Ronson is lending his support to budding musicians for a programme run by Grammy.

The Uptown Funk star will act as a mentor for those dreaming of emulating his success, with 25 aspiring artists getting the chance to work with him.

The Recording Academy and Hyundai announced that Ronson will serve as ambassador for the 2015 Grammy Amplifier, the organisation's programme for mentoring artists. This year's curators include Ziggy Marley, the Band Perry and singer-songwriter Allen Stone.

Artists will be whittled down to 25 finalists who will be mentored by the programme, with the top three each winning a recording session with a Grammy-winning producer, filming a music video and earning a performance spot at a music festival or as an opening act for a top artist.

The programme is in its third year. Past celebrity participants include David Guetta, Ariana Grande, Kendrick Lamar, Hunter Hayes and Robert Glasper.
