McCartney to play UK Christmas gigs
Sir Paul McCartney is coming home for Christmas to play two special gigs with an "intimate vibe".
The former Beatle announced he is taking his band to London and his home town of Liverpool later this month.
He said: "I always love playing to a home audience and for me it's the perfect way to end the year. We've had great fun with the stadium shows this year and we're looking forward to the more intimate vibe of these ones.
"Christmas is the perfect excuse for everyone to let their hair down and rock out. We are looking forward to celebrating with the good people of London and Liverpool."
The first gig, on Saturday December 18, is at the HMV Apollo in Hammersmith - a venue he first played with The Beatles in December 1964.
The Liverpool gig is at the O2 Academy on Monday, December 20, and will be the first time he has played in his home city since he appeared at Liverpool Football Club's Anfield stadium as part of the city's year as European Capital of Culture.
Tickets, which go on sale at 10am on Wednesday, are limited to four per person.
