Michael Stipe to honour activist

Michael Stipe will appear at the Trailblazers event

Michael Stipe is to honour Ugandan gay rights activist John Abdallah Wambere at the Logo network's Trailblazers event this month.

The former R.E.M. frontman will appear at the June 23 event in New York. Wambere is the leader of the gay rights group Spectrum Uganda Initiatives.

Singer-songwriter Sia will perform with the New York City Gay Men's Chorus at the event, where Daniel Radcliffe will appear.

The inaugural Trailblazers salutes pioneers in the gay rights movement. Honorees include NBA player Jason Collins, Laverne Cox and Lea DeLaria of Orange Is The New Black and the woman who challenged the federal Defence of Marriage, Edie Windsor and her lawyer Roberta Kaplan.

Leo:

You feel optimistic and for good reason. An admirer has been trying to win your heart. All this attention is flattering. If you're single, keep playing hard to get. The more you resist, the more they'll persist. Are you already in a relationship? Start pursuing a cherished dream. Fulfilling your heart's desire will make you a better partner and friend. Dwelling on what might have been will just make you bitter. Take a risk. It's better to try and fail than be paralysed by fear.More
