Morissette's ode to Green Day star

Alanis Morissette sent a message to Billie Joe Armstrong when she stood in for him on a US TV show

Alanis Morissette paid tribute to Green Day singer Billy Joe Armstrong as she replaced him on a US TV show.

Rocker Billy Joe pulled out of his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week after entering rehab to receive treatment for substance abuse.

Canadian singer Alanis took his place on the programme and performed a cover of the Green Day hit Basket Case. At the end of the song, she said: "We love you Billy Joe."

Billy Joe, 40, had a meltdown onstage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas last week, launching into a foul-mouthed rant after complaining that the band's time was being cut short.

A message on the band's Facebook page following the performance read: "Billie Joe is seeking treatment for substance abuse. We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologise to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas. We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances."

Gemini:

This is a good time to establish a routine. Create a schedule that strikes a nice balance between your personal and professional lives. You're the type of person who needs plenty of intellectual stimulation outside of work. If you've been spending too much time at the office, reduce your hours. This may mean less money, but you can't put a price on happiness. You might even decide to take a job with unconventional hours so you can play sports or spend more time outdoors.More
