Morrissey apparently can't get a deal to release a new album

Morrissey's co-writer Boz Boorer has claimed the former Smiths' frontman can't get a record deal.

The 54-year-old musician and political campaigner has just released his memoirs, but the struggling state of the music industry means Morrissey is unable to release any new music.

Guitarist and co-writer Boz Boorer has worked with the singer throughout his solo career. Asked by God Is In the TV whether he's been affected by the music industry slump, h e said: "Not with regard to shows but Morrissey is unable to secure a record deal so we haven't made a record in a few years, despite having an arsenal of new material."

Morrissey's last solo album Years Of Refusal was released in 2009.

Boz revealed he and Morrissey are still writing new music, they just can't afford to release it.

He revealed: "I submit finished tracks, Morrissey writes over them, sometimes they are edited, keys are changed, sometimes not."

Your Horoscopes by Russell Grant

Gemini:

A friend will tell you about a job opening at their company. This lead will turn into a dead end. Don't set your hopes on this possibility. Instead of looking for another job, concentrate on fulfilling your duties. Tempers are running high. The last thing you want is to catch the attention of an irritable superior. If someone does criticise your work, remain silent. These remarks may be terribly unfair, but defending yourself will only make the situation worse. Breathe deep. This, too, shall pass.More
