Muppet duo to join Robbie on stage

Robbie Williams is to perform with Miss Piggy and Kermit when he launches his new swing album with a one-off show at the London Palladium.

The Muppet duo are among the guests who will be on the bill for the November 8 concert to showcase songs from his forthcoming release Swings Both Ways.

Also at the event will be Rufus Wainwright and Lily Allen, who both contribute to tracks on the album, a second album inspired by his love of swing and big band tunes.

Miss Piggy said: "Moi is always thrilled to perform at the Palladium, no matter who I have to share the stage with.

"But being up there with moi's dear friend Robbie Williams and Kermie will make this night even more spectacular."

The gig - in which Robbie will unveil some new songs written with his long-term writing partner Guy Chambers, along with popular standards - will also be filmed for BBC One and will be sold around the world, as well as released on DVD.

T ickets go on sale on Monday and the album comes out on November 18.
