Nadine Coyle joins We Are Manchester concert line-up
Derry singer Nadine Coyle has said she is "honoured" to join the line up for the upcoming We Are Manchester benefit concert.
The former Girls Aloud singer will perform at the Manchester Arena on Saturday, September 9 to mark the venue's reopening following a terror attack in May at an Ariana Grande concert in which 22 people were killed.
Nadine will join a huge line up of acts for the gig, including Rick Astley, Pixie Lott, Louisa Johnson, Courteeners and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.
The singer, 32, tweeted the news and said in a statement: “It is a great honour to be able to take part in We Are Manchester in support of the Manchester Memorial Fund.
“It will be an extremely poignant evening as we remember those who lost their lives.”
The event will come just one day after the release of her new single Go To Work, following her debut solo album Insatiable in 2010.
Tickets for the show have already sold out, and proceeds will be donated to the Manchester Memorial Fund which aims to establish a permanent memorial for all those affected by the atrocity.
James Allen, General Manager of Manchester Arena said: “May’s events will never be forgotten, but they will not stop us – or Mancunian music fans – from coming together to enjoy live music.
"Manchester Arena has celebrated over 20 years hosting some of the greatest musical talent of all time, and the significant economic and cultural impact that this has on the city means that this legacy must continue."
