New Coldplay record 'ambitious'

Chris Martin says he'll make a stand with the new Coldplay album

Chris Martin has said he's spent his life playing it safe - but he's ready to make a stand with Coldplay's next album.

The Viva La Vida singer told Q magazine the band's next album is taking inspiration from the the White Rose movement, a group of young people living in Germany in WWII who printed anti-Nazi flyers.

Chris said: "I admire it. I've spent a lot of my life playing it a bit safe or conforming to something, even though I don't agree with it. So I have great respect and admiration for people who don't."

The 33-year-old father-of-three has big ambitions for the new record, although he refused to reveal the title.

He said: "We're very hungry and fired up. In five years, we'll be in our late 30s. You have to have done your best work by then."

Chris added: "We're just trying some risky things."

Virgo:

Read the fine print on a contract. If you're not happy with the proposed terms of a deal, renegotiate. Don't be afraid to drive a hard bargain. You may not realise it, but you have a great deal of power. People are willing to pay good money for someone with your intelligence and experience. If you undersell yourself, you will set a dangerous precedent. Someone will ask you to do something that goes against your conscience. Obey your principles, even if it means making an enemy.More
