New Order headline Portmeirion fest

New Order will play at the new Portmeirion festival in September

New Order has been revealed as the headliners for a brand new British festival to be held in the Welsh seaside village of Portmeirion.

The Blue Monday rockers will headline Festival No 6 along with Primal Scream and Spiritualized in September in the stylish setting, famous for being the set of cult 60s TV show The Prisoner.

New Order drummer Stephen Morris said: "It's an amazing location for a festival, we can't believe it hasn't been done before. It's going to be absolutely spectacular, so we're all really looking forward to it."

As well as music, Festival No 6 will include cinema screenings, street theatre, prose and poetry readings, stand-up comedy and cultural lectures and debates, set around the town and along the cliff tops of Portmeirion in North Wales
