Ne-Yo has revealed collaborating with Marvel comics legend Stan Lee is a dream come true.
The Year Of The Gentleman star - whose real name is Shaffer Chimere Smith - is teaming up with the veteran creator of Spider-Man to create his own superhero in Libra Scale, a storybook version of his forthcoming album.
"I've been a fan for years, I'm trying not to geek out being with Stan," he told the Daily Star.
"It's cool that I can take this comic element of myself and blend it into the R&B element. I got to draw the characters myself," he added.
The 27-year-old crooner's novel alter-ego is called Jerome, who is given superpowers but is told he cannot fall in love - until he meets the villainous Diamond Eye.
The story will then come to life through Ne-Yo's music videos, followed by the album, which is released on November 1.
Stan hopes that the comics can help turn around the music industry's ailing fortunes.
"A really good rapper inspires people. Reading a good comic book does the same thing," he said.
