Noel Gallagher: Liam should go solo

Noel Gallagher has urged his brother Liam to make a solo album after saying goodbye to Beady Eye.

Liam's post-Oasis band called it quits in October, with the frontman announcing the news - without an explanation - on Twitter.

Beady Eye were formed in 2009 and consisted of former Oasis members Gem Archer, Andy Bell and drummer Chris Sharrock.

Now Noel has told Q magazine: "I'm very f***ing sad about Beady Eye, because I know they really wanted to make it work.

"I wanted it to work for them. I was out with Gem Archer the other night. The vibe I'm getting is that it was a shock, although not completely surprising."

He added: "I'm amazed Liam has chucked it in, but he won't stay out of the limelight for long.

"I think Liam should make a solo record - put his balls on the line, put his name up in lights and go for it."

Noel has dismissed reports that Oasis could reunite following Beady Eye's split.
