Norah to sing Ted tune at Oscars

Norah Jones said she is delighted to be singing at the Oscars

Norah Jones is to perform the theme song from Ted, Everybody Needs A Best Friend, at the Oscars.

The tune, nominated for Best Original Song, was co-written by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, who is hosting the Academy Awards in Los Angeles on February 24. It will be Norah's first time singing at the Oscars, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Grammy-winning singer said: "I had such a great time recording this song with Seth, and was thrilled to find out that it was nominated for an Oscar. Getting to perform it at such a prestigious event, which my friend is hosting, is a once in a lifetime opportunity."

Adele is also set to sing her nomination for Best Original Song, Bond theme Skyfall, at the ceremony, which will air live on TV.
