One Direction: 1D Day for the fans

One Direction are set to be the stars of a seven-hour live stream.

Cameras will follow the boyband - Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson - for seven hours straight on 1D Day, which will be available to fans around the world when it is broadcast on November 23.

The group's followers, known as Directioners, can interact with their favourite member throughout the broadcast, which will also feature special guest appearances, comedy sketches, messages and fan-generated videos.

"1D Day is all about giving back to our amazing fans for supporting us for the past three years. When we suggested it we never thought anyone would let us loose LIVE all day - we cannot wait!" said Liam.

Niall added: "This is no ordinary live stream. There will be celebrity guests, special features and you will get the chance to suggest ideas for the show."

Harry tweeted: "1d day is coming soon. I'm quite looking forward to it I reckon."

The news comes as One Direction's first fragrance Our Moment became the fastest selling perfume of 2013.

Michelle D'vaz from The Perfume Shop said: "Our Moment has outsold any other fragrance based on first week sales alone."

The band, who are on a world tour, will release their third album Midnight Memories on November 25, and will embark on the Where We Are world tour in 2014. Details about 1D Day can be found on the One Direction Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Google+ pages.
