One Direction are apparently going to be transformed into cartoon characters on the big screen.
The boy band will be animated for at least two films about their music, and possibly more, reported the Daily Star.
The paper said the movies could be unveiled in 2015 and 2016.
Simon Cowell's Syco Entertainment is teaming up with Animal Logic Entertainment - the animation and special effects studio behind projects like The Lego Movie and Happy Feet - and it is thought they will collaborate on the 1D films.
The animated films about Harry Styles and his bandmates could be similar to The Beatles' Yellow Submarine.
A source said: "Simon wants to see almost a reinvention of the whole genre, with storylines woven around the boys' songs and, eventually, songs written to specific storylines with spin-off albums.
"It's an incredibly exciting prospect that may involve a mix of animation and live action.
"The real Beatles are only seen in the closing scenes of Yellow Submarine and it was a great device then and certainly can be again."
One Direction already have a film project in the works, after it was revealed they are making a follow-up to their hit 2013 documentary This Is Us. The singers are being filmed while they are on their current world tour for material for a sequel.
