Chart-toppers One Direction made their film debut with hit concert movie and documentary One Direction: This Is Us.

The film topped the UK and US box office and grossed over £45 million worldwide.

An intimate look at life on the road for the global music phenomenon, This Is Us weaved live concert footage with Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson discussing their meteoric rise to fame from The X Factor in 2010 to superstardom.

Directed by Morgan Spurlock of Super Size Me fame, the film was produced by Simon Cowell, among others.

Here are 10 quotes from the boys taken from This Is Us.

1. Niall Horan: "When I was small I had a desk, it was weird because I wrote in it, 'When I grow up, I wanna be a singer'. I, like, inscribed it in, and it's still on the desk."

2. Harry Styles: "When I was little I knew that I wanted to entertain people. I was a proper show off."

3. Louis Tomlinson: "In school, I was always trying to play the class clown, always been that guy that make people laugh."

4. Zayn Malik: "I wasn't really interested in things that all the kids were interested in. They were interested in football, and I was more creative."

5. Liam Payne: "Wherever I went, my dad just seemed to tell people that I could sing."

6. Harry Styles: "I could always hear my sister's music and I used to pretend to have a guitar and, like, perform in my mirror in my bedroom."

7. Louis Tomlinson: "I was never really a fan of boybands before One Direction."

8. Niall Horan: "I'm a massive boyband fan myself, Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC...."

9. Louis Tomlinson: "We couldn't follow the boyband stereotypes, choreographed dance routine, then everything's the same."

10: Zayn Malik: "We're definitely going to stay together. This isn't the last for One Direction."
